The February curation

Welcome to the curation for the month of February.

Each month I put together a moodboard to inspire my personal artwork, with a particular theme.

And then follows my ‘curation’. A curation of beautiful businesses and products that fit within the theme. I wanted to create an opportunity to introduce you to some amazing goods that I genuinely want to add to my shopping basket (and often do!).

This month’s theme was summer romance’. With February being the time of love, I wanted this month to be full of romantic touches. And romance for yourself, not necessarily for a significant other. I think we get caught up in the hype of Valentine’s Day and there’s lots of pressure. I wanted ‘Summer Romance’ to be about giving that love to yourself, and celebrating all of the friendships and relationships in your life.

So these businesses all have these beautiful romantic touches and celebrate independent women.

Please give them lots of love, follow them, and hopefully purchase from them if you love a piece.

And if you want to be featured in my coming curations, please send me a DM on Insta or email me x

ONE. ZALE THE LABEL

Elisabeth is a dear friend of mine and I have had the pleasure of even modelling some beautiful Zale pieces. I’m so proud of what she’s achieved for her business and the beautiful women she includes in her photos. Her pieces are so whimsical and romantic, and so were the perfect fit for this month.

Elisabeth says,

“Founded on the beautiful Sunshine Coast, Zale is a small local business seeking to encompass beauty inspired. Whether it be the calm, soothing tones of our sandy shores or the strong and powerful presence of our glistening blue ocean - our clothing items for woman & child are inspired by the beauty of the natural hues that surround, soothe and nurture us throughout our journey.”

TWO. JEWEL INTIMATES

I came across Julia’s pieces on Instagram and thought they were the perfect romantic touch to this month’s curation. You can tell she puts so much love and care into creating her pieces.

Julia says,

Jewel Intimates is my small business where I develop high end, hand made products that are created from beautiful fabrics. The entire process is done in studio from the initial designs/patterns all the way through to manufacturing of the garments. Each garment is truly designed and made with love here in Melbourne.

With over 2 years’ experience working in a lingerie store and completing a uni degree specialising in lingerie, I have extensive knowledge of lingerie fabrics and fit. You will notice that there are tips posted to our Instagram to help ensure you are fitting your bralette correct. All bralettes also come with adjustable straps to help achieve the perfect fit.

Garments are made to order so please allow 2-3 weeks for orders to be sent.”

THREE. RICRAC ROAD CLOTHING

Ok so these babies are definitely on the shopping list. How

Kellie says,

“I started RicRac Road in early 2020, but is had been on my mind and in my heart for many years before that. My background is not fashion, it’s software development - in fact I have never even worked in a clothes store.

So, when I started I wanted to make clothes that make you feel good. Clothes that you reach for often and ones that you want to keep in your wardrobe forever.

I hope that I am doing that and I think as I get more confident I am getting better and better at understanding what women want that is a little bit different to everything else out there.”

AND LASTLY. HEIDI LOU DESIGN

This month’s limited print is all about giving yourself the love you crave and so freely give to everyone else.

Often we expect to get all of our love, recognition, connection and praise from one person.

But we can recognise that love can come in many shapes and forms and from different sources. From friends, family, work friends, pets, nature, therapists, clients and hype girls on social media. Most importantly, we can give it to ourselves.

This print is only available until March 2, so get in quick!
