October moodboard: Send Nudes

Wellllllcome to the month of October.

This month’s moodboard is a bit different from my usual work. I’ve been inspired by a lot of things this month but at the core of it, I wanted to show that I can do something aside from my usual bright and fun style.

This month I’ll draw on inspiration from these beautiful clippings for my personal work. Titled ‘Send Nudes’, October’s moodboard has been inspired by…

NUDES, OF COURSE

Confession: I’ve always wanted to paint my own nudes. I think the female body is so beautiful in all shapes and forms and have always admired art of this nature. I think fear of not being good enough and the fear of judgement have held me back in the past. But I’ve posted it now! So I’m going to keep myself accountable and just give it a go.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month

October is all about raising awareness for breast cancer. You may remember last week I posted about my beautiful grandma. Well on top of everything else she has done, she is also a breast cancer survivor. So I will be drawing on inspiration from boobs and reminding you all to feel yourselves and get checked!

Neutral colour palettes

In the past my work has been quite bright and playful. I’m really loving neutral colours at the moment and the elegance they bring. It’s also something I want to show potential clients I can do because I’d love to attract this kind of work. So think creams, tans, beige, whites, blacks and hint of soft pastels.

Watching

I’m currently binge watching Suits and the women wear some incredibly beautiful, elegant and professional corporate wear. These shapes and materials keep running through my head. I think fashion at the moment seems to be featuring silks, bows and feminine suits, especially in the lead up to Melbourne Cup.

Reading

I’m currently reading ‘The Vagina Bible’. It’s a really interesting read and I’m loving learning more and getting comfortable with my own body, which has been a journey within itself over the years.

So happy October! I hope you enjoy the stripped bare designs coming your way.
