December moodboard: Leading ladies

Welcome to the mood for December

I came across these beautiful murder mystery novels in a secondhand book store in Caloundra, and saved them for a future moodboard. And the time definitely came to use them. 

This month’s moodboard feels much darker and more sultry than any I’ve created in the past. To be honest, the past few weeks I’ve been feeling quite a deep, dark and instrospective energy, so it felt like the right time to put it together. 

I know everyone was guessing I’d take a cheery approach for the month of Christmas. But to be honest, I’m not a huge Christmas lover! (Please forgive me). I love the gift giving element of Christmas but I think sometimes I find the festive season a little bit hard. I know it sounds silly but I’ve single for about five Christmases now, and I think this time of year makes me feel a little bit lonely. And maybe a little mad.

So… 

I’ve channelled that feeling into all things heroine chic with empowering and badass women who take the leading role. It’s a ‘slay’ rather than ‘sleigh’ kind of mood. 

So while I know it’s a little unexpected for the month of the festive season, I hope you love it, and perhaps even relate a little bit. 

I hope this month you’re able to channel your badass hero energy into yourself and make sure you feel strong, loved and like a leading lady. 

Plus, I know ‘murder mystery’ might reflect a few family situations these holidays!
